Garden Care is a yearly membership, billed monthly. We're in your garden across the New England season — roughly April through November.

Not a vague promise — the actual work, on the actual Central-Massachusetts calendar. These are the same task records we work from on every visit.

Early spring

  • Spring bed prep & soil top-upMar 25 – Apr 20

    Refresh soil to ~1:1 compost:potting mix; level and amend before planting.

  • Plant cool-season cropsApr 5 – Apr 30

    Direct-sow quick-spring crops; transplant/sow long-spring crops.

  • Thin seedlingsApr 15 – May 20

    Thin direct-seeded rows to spacing so seedlings have room; stronger plants.

  • Pea trellis trainingApr 20 – May 31

    Guide fast pea vines onto trellis for support and clean harvest.

Late spring

  • Late-spring garden tour + pest watch startMay 1 – May 31

    Walk garden; assess growth; begin preventive pest watch as pests activate (incl. spotted lanternfly in MA).

    Essential and up

  • Apply granular animal repellentMay 1 – Sep 15

    Apply per label to discourage rabbits/deer/groundhog; reapply on schedule/after rain.

Early summer

  • Remove/adjust row coverMay 15 – Jun 15

    Pull row cover as temps rise / for pollination; keep for pest-prone crops as needed.

    After last-frost (~May 20): set tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, cucurbits; fertigate to establish.
